Good for you – you get fresh & flavorful produce
Good for the environment – you reduce your carbon foot-print
Good for the farmer – you support local economy

Choose foods that are in season & grown close to where you live
Befriend your farmer – ask questions, create connections
Bring your own bags – there is not always a need for packaging

SUPERMARKET – if there is no farmers market
Know what’s in your food. Read labels. Don’t be fooled by ‘health claims’ – look at the ingredient list
Prefer small companies and brands to big corporations – it helps to evenly distribute the wealth.
Do your research (or ask me). Buy from companies who are transparent, who treat workers, animals & the environment with respect

Make kitchen, along with cooking and eating, the central part of your home
Cook from ‘one-ingredient’ real foods
Let children help and try new foods
Take time for your meal, enjoy it with all your senses
Eat together with your family, or invite a friend or neighbor over
